How to Install a Home Intercom System
A home intercom system allows you to communicate with anyone in your home and to share music in every room. A home intercom system is easy to install yourself.
Tools and Materials

* Pencil
* Saw
Step 1 – Create a Wall Opening
Look at the depth of a master station. This will let you know how much space you need on the wall. Find the studs and make sure you drill holes in the studs. Trace around it with a pencil on the wall. Make sure to be at a comfortable height. Cut a hole with a chainsaw. Dry fit into place to ensure appropriate holes. Is there any trimming required.
Step 2 – Prepare substation
Follow the same steps to make holes in the walls of other rooms for the substation. Test fit them and then set aside for the next step.
Step 3 – Wire substation
Box master station will be tied into the electrical system in the house. Each substation is connected to the station master. Connect the wires to the terminals at each substation. Enter the substation to the walls and in accordance with the mold in the vicinity of the unit.
Step 4 – Run the Cabling
Run power from the substation to the station master. You might want to run cables through the attic space or basement ceiling and then run the cord up to the station master. To identify each cable substation just tag each wire.
Step 5 – Connect the Master Station
Turn off the power network to prevent shocks. Link cable relay station to the station master. Terminal master station must be marked to show you where the cable must be installed. Then connect the center of power to the station master. Enter the master station in the opening and secure to wall studs. Now turn the power back.
Step 6 – Test the Intercom
Test the intercom to use it in every room. If there is a problem in the substation or check the battery cable to the master control.
Now you can enjoy your music when you go room to room and you will be able to call everyone to dinner with a dinner bell.
