How to Test a Thermal Fuse
If the household suddenly stopped working, the first thing you should do is check and see if the thermal fuse is damaged. A thermal fuse is a safety mechanism in the household, but prevents the flow of electricity in case of overheating. It should take only a few minutes to test the thermal fuse.

Step 1 – Removing Home Appliance
First of all, you have to decide home appliances from the power supply. You can do this by removing the plug. Make sure that the appliances do not have electricity before you begin testing thermal fuse.
Step 2 – Find Thermal Fuse
Search terms fuses located in your household. Not all thermal fuse located on the same side of the appliance. This may vary from one brand to another, and may also vary depending on the type of house you own. In general, the thermal fuse can be found in two locations: the rear panel behind the rear panel or on the lower legs.
Step 3 – Revealing the Thermal Fuse

Let the probe from your ohmmeter or digital multimeter to touch the edge of the fuse. Tools should be read on-screen display. Read carefully, and will help you determine whether the fuse is damaged or not. No need to change the fuses with new ones if you change the place ohmmeter to zero. On the other hand, you have to install a new thermal fuse if the ohmmeter does not move.
Keep in mind that the fuse can not be adjusted terms, and if found to be damaged or broken, you should replace it immediately.
