Replacing a Sliding Screen Door Track
Replacing sliding door track is a fairly simple job, which in the end you may need to do. Over time, the door track to be worn and bent. Rollers may also be damaged. After several years, sliding doors may not close properly and sometimes they can be difficult to control because many times they get caught. In some cases, rollers and tracks can be cleared, but eventually they will be replaced. Replace bent or damaged tracks not work very difficult or time consuming.
Tools and Materials Needed:
* Vacuum cleaner
* Measuring tape
* Screwdriver set
* Marker pen
* Doors songs
* Metal saws
* Screw
Step 1 – Remove Doors
Depending on the size of the door, you may need someone to help you with this step. To remove the door, holding both sides of the roller and lift up to clear the track. Attracting the bottom of the door toward you, gently remove the door from the frame. Do the same with the other door.
Step 2 – Check Tracks
Remove dirt from the track and check the songs carefully. Do not change if you do not need. If there is wear and tear on it and especially if the track is bent, it will be replaced.
Step 3 – Remove Old Door Track
Remove the old door of the center by taking a direct screw in place. Having someone to help you by pressing one end of the song that is not folded when you move. Measure the length of the old track, so you know how long the new need. Delete songs from the top of the door the same way. Download old songs to your home improvement store and use it as a guide to get a new one.
Step 4 – Cut New Track Size
Hold the old to the new songs to compare sizes. Make sure that the holes line up. Use a marker to place a sign on the path to where you will need to cut it. Cut a long strip of right to use the hacksaw. Do the same for the songs that will be installed at the top of the frame.
Step 5 – Install the new track in place
Turn the new songs in the replacement screws. Clean the brush and roller doors using denatured alcohol. It is also a good idea to perform some lubricant to the rollers. Make sure you remove all the advantages of the lap. Make sure that the tracks are installed correctly and then you’ll be ready to lift the door back into place.
Step 6 – Return The Doors
Place all the doors by lifting them into the center of the corner. Bounce roll back to a lower path and then test the door to see if their images correctly. You will probably need someone to help you with this.
