Build a Japanese Style Rock Garden
A Japanese style rock garden is a good idea for most home landscape gardener. They are cheap to build, cost almost nothing to maintain, and can even help reduce your daily stress. A Japanese rock garden is often referred to as a garden “Zen”. The purpose of the Japanese rock gardens to bring peace, tranquility and serenity of your life. Rock garden is a basic type of symbolism: the sand represents the ocean, rock islands and the sweep is a tool for you to cross the rocky waters.
The following steps will show you how to create your own style of Japanese rock gardens to be used in the backyard of your home. The same measures could be scaled down to create a private rock gardens that you can keep on your desk (at home or work).
Tools and materials:
* A flat area large enough to accommodate several large stones
* Foot
* Hammer
* Measuring Tape
* 2 ‘by 4′ needed
* Plywood
* Satin Paint
* Small Rocks
* Big Rocks
* Crushed Granite
* Rake
* Grass leaves (optional)
Step 1 – Framing Rock Park
First, determine how big you want your rock garden to be and then measure and cut wood based. Next, nail plywood to the wood framing to create a shallow. Now, feel free to place whatever color paint you like, and once dry, back up a plywood floor.
Step 2 – Adding Islands
Now that you have your rock gardens rimmed out, you can start your own quiet vacation. Rock your place in your garden represents the islands in the sea you. There is no wrong way to do this, but based on your personal feelings. When you select your island, choose a stone that compliments your personality best. Try to incorporate a small rock with a rock. Once you choose your stone, it is time to put them in your garden. Placement follow the same rules as they choose, so follow your own feelings (and intuition) in the placement.
Step 3 – Leaves Options
Traditionally the public, usually do not have a rock garden foliage. This does not mean you can not put a small, non-flowering plants near your island. It is entirely up to you and how you want your rock garden to represent you personally. However, this is your garden and, as such, the design of your choice.
Step 4 – Add the Sea
It is a misconception that the Japanese rock garden using sand when, in reality, it shattered granite. If you are looking to keep your costs down, you can buy beach sand or fine gravel to make a passable sea. You add a burst of granite in a smooth even layer of filling between the stones.
Step 5 – Creating Ripples
First, choose a place in rock gardens where you want to come and sweep the place in the area then start moving your swept to themselves while playing, and spinning sweep to make ripples (so you are satisfied with them).
